We asked in 2002 if anyone could tell us what the donkey is carrying? In 2008 Lee Ann Conner wrote, "It appears to be horney goat weed, (an epimedium species) a herb that is collected on hillsides and gathered in this fashion in China".

The famous Oatman burros in Arizona have their own web site
http://www.route66azlastingimpressions.com/Oatman_Burros/oatman_burros.shtml
"There is a small herd of between 10 and 12 Burros that venture into town daily from the mountains surrounding Oatman."

About 400,000 visitors come every winter to see the donkeys.
If you get a chance to go to Oatman, check out a stop called 'Burro Flats'.

Thanks to all the talented photographers who have contributed photos to the Pride Page - these tell the story better than any words could
